The Gaston County NAACP Meet the Candidates event, held during the organization’s monthly meeting, provides community members an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking elected office. The gathering encourages civic engagement, informed voting, and meaningful conversation about the issues affecting Gaston County residents.

What is early voting?
Early voting allows eligible voters to cast their ballot in person before Election Day during a designated early voting period.

Who can vote early?
Any eligible voter may vote during the early voting period—no special reason is required.
Where can I vote early?
Early voting locations vary by county. Check your local board of elections or official election website to find a location near you.
When does early voting take place?
Early voting runs from October 15 through October 31.
Election Day
The 2026 general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Any voter in line at their assigned polling place at 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote.
